Asia is the earth's largest and most populous continent. More than 4.4 billion people live in the 48 countries that make up the continent. Some of these countries are transcontinental. Asia was the home of many ancient civilizations and is the birthplace to many of the world’s religions such as Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and many others.
There are over 2,300 languages spoken in Asia and its culture and ethnic groups are incredibly diverse, so it’s impossible to put Asians into one group. The climate is also diverse and ranges from arctic in Siberia to tropical in Southeast Asia, which brings a richness in biodiversity.
